About the Software Roundtables
The BBi-CFMA Software Roundtables are designed to provide construction financial professionals with a direct, education-focused dialogue with software vendors.
These sessions are not sales presentations. Instead, they offer:
- practical insights into software capabilities
- live demonstrations of key features
- opportunities for attendees to ask questions and evaluate solutions
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- gain an understanding of the vendor’s products and services
- explore key features and functionality
- evaluate how the solution aligns with their organization’s workflows
Session Details
- Format: Virtual roundtable discussion
- Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
- Level: Overview
- Audience: Business owners, CFOs, controllers, CTOs, IT managers, and professional advisors
- CFMA rules prevent the sharing of registration or attendee contact information.
Content & Presentation Requirements
- Sessions must focus on education with defined learning objectives, not sales.
- Provide a live demonstration showcasing features, functionality, and use cases.
- Include a brief segment on implementation considerations and real-world applications.
- Avoid promotional claims or comparisons to other vendors.
- Areas of focus preferred by attendees will be shared with vendor if available to help determine the flow of the roundtable.
- Content should not be overly scripted and minimal time (no more than 10 minutes) should be allocated to a formal PowerPoint-style presentation. Vendor is expected to support a townhall/roundtable format moderated by the BBI-CFMA host.
- Vendors can plan for the following time allocation:
- 5 minutes: Opening comments and intro by BBI-CFMA
- 10 minutes: Vendor PowerPoint presentation on the company and product line
- 35 minutes: Live demo with active answering of audience questions
- 5 minutes: Closing comments by BBI-CFMA
- 5 minutes: Buffer
Technical & Logistical Preparation
- Roundtables will be hosted on CFMA’s virtual event platform.
- A technical run-through will be scheduled at least 1 week prior.
- Vendors must provide a presenter bio, headshot, and company logo for promotions
- Presenters must join 15 minutes prior to the event start for tech check.
Audience Engagement
- Encourage attendee participation through polls, chat prompts, and Q&A.
- Be prepared to respond to live questions in an open forum format.
- Keep slides minimal — focus on live demonstration and dialogue.
- Optional: Include a downloadable resource or checklist for attendees.
Follow-Up & Evaluation
- A post-event survey will be shared with attendees and anonymized results will be shared with you.
- No direct outreach to attendee list is allowed without expressed interest/opt-in by attendee in post-event survey
- Feedback will help determine future vendor participation opportunities.
Educational Integrity Agreement
- As a participating vendor, you agree to align with the mission and guidelines of the guide
- Software Roundtables Powered by BBI & CFMA. These sessions are designed for educational purposes only and are not intended to serve as sales presentations. By confirming your participation, you agree to:
- Avoid product promotions or sales pitches.
- Refrain from disparaging or comparing competitors.
- Focus your content on educational value, implementation guidance, and professional insights
- Respect the noncommercial nature of the session and audience expectations.
Cancellation Clause
Vendor cancellation after confirmation or failure to fulfill agreed-upon commitments will result in CFMA restricting the vendor’s participation in future Software Roundtables for a period of 12 months from the cancellation date.
This policy ensures fairness and continuity for all participating vendors and protects the integrity of the program for attendees. Exceptions may be granted at the discretion of CFMA and BBI in cases of extenuating circumstances communicated promptly and in writing.
